About the Beligala

Beligala is a beautiful mountain village consisting of green paddy fields, rivers, and majestic mountains. Here lies the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, an ancient temple steeped in Sri Lankan history. This is an amazing place to enjoy nature,  local culture and explore the rich surrounding biodiversity. In the Beligala Temple there is a special structure with a roof made from golden tiles, to host the tooth relic. A few of the original palace ruins can be found on top of the boulder. One unusual moonstone structure stands out with its center protruding above the ground. This moonstone is now protected by an iron fence and legend says that there is a hidden treasure underneath it.
