Tour in brief

Start your tour from the pre-agreed place in Jaffna city. Start with the visit to the Keerimalai, an old holy spring, (which is not to be confused with a hot water spring). After that, your ride will take you through the Jaffna-Kayts Road to see vast prawn and crab farms along with fish hubs. We will then stop to get something to eat from ‘11 to Eleven Pizza’ and stop at ‘Rio Ice Cream’ for dessert, enroute. The ancient Naguleswaram Hindu temple, Karainagar Island, Casuarina Beach, Jaffna Fort and the 15th century relics of the last Tamil ruler, King Sangiliyan, are just some of the sights we will see on the Jaffna Tour.

Jaffna is the capital city of the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. The country’s 12th largest city, Jaffna is known for its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. Its suburb Nallur, served as the capital of the 4th century medieval Jaffna Kingdom. Prior to the protracted civil war, it was Sri Lanka's second most populated city after the commercial capital Colombo. Since the end of the conflict in 2009, refugees and internally displaced people have gradually started returning to their homes and government and private sector reconstruction has begun. Jaffna is home to many historical sites such as the popular Jaffna Library that was burnt down and rebuilt and the Jaffna Fort rebuilt during the Dutch colonial period, in the 17th century.
