Tour in brief

  • Your tour begins with an early welcome to the city of Kurunegala to enjoy a full day with us. Start your day at our dye plant where the handloom process begins with the dyeing of 100% cotton yarn into a myriad of vibrant colours only limited by your imagination.
  • Sip and enjoy a King Coconut from our home garden on site, where treated water from the wastewater treatment plant is used for irrigation. We use to make this facility to ensure that the dyeing process is 100% environmentally conscious. Our employees at the dye plant have full and free use of this garden and can take the produce home for their families.
  • Next we head into the interiors of the Kurunegala district to see our women artisans practice the traditional skill of handloom weaving. You can even try your hand at it. Here we will present to you our crèche facility, which we are immensely proud of. This facility enables our members to continue working while knowing that their children are in the safe hands of a qualified preschool teacher.
  • Lunch will be cooked for you a-la-village and served under the shade of the mango trees. Use your fingers to eat and enjoy a truly Sri Lankan experience.
  • Next we visit our toy factory, which will take you through the stages of product finishing. Women from in and around Kurunegala work together to transform our vibrant handwoven fabrics into beautiful home textiles, toys and fashion items. We also have a large network of home-workers who work and earn their living from the comfort of their own homes - you will get to see what they make too.
  • Refresh yourself and finish off the day with a visit to our store in Wanduragala. Take away with you part of your experience to share with your family and friends back home. Before you leave Kurunegala, you must drive up the famous Elephant Rock and cherish the warm colours in the sky as the sunset bids you a memorable journey through our beautiful Island.
