About Pasikudah

Situated on the eastern coast of the country, about 35 kilometres northwest of Batticaloa, Pasikudah is known to have one of the longest stretches of shallow reef coastline in the world. You can walk for several kilometres into the sea because the water is only a few inches deep and the current is relatively weak, compared to the rest of Sri Lanka's coasts. The barrier reef is home to a variety of tropical fish as well as offering sightings of whales, dolphins, mantra rays, reef sharks and other exotic sea creatures. This underwater habitat provides a perfect spots for diving and snorkelling.
