You will first meet up with the Sri Lanka Day Tours crew at a pre-designated place in Arugambay or Potuvil. For the morning half-day tour, the safari starting time will be at 6 a.m. while the afternoon safari begins at 3.00 p.m from the park entrance. We will pick you up from Arugambay at 5.30am for the Morning Safari and at 2.30pm for the evening safari.
Lahugala National Park promises an enriching and unforgettable experience, offering a unique blend of wildlife, natural beauty, and cultural heritage in a tranquil and less-crowded setting. It is best known for its elephants: up to 150 congregate around the tank during July and August. The tank is also good for spotting a wide range of aquatic birds, including innumerable snowy white egrets that can often be seen hitching a ride on the backs of obliging elephants.
After finishing the safari, either around 10 a.m. or around 6 p.m., you will be dropped off at the park entrance or Arugambay itself.
