Masks are deeply connected to Sri Lankan folklore, and takes on a functional role where they are used in healing rituals known popularly as devil dances. Their past is rooted in ancient beliefs and the ideology that they have healing and protective powers.
  • All masks have been patiently hand carved with very intricate designs and painted in vibrant colours which depicts the traditional inheritance. The timber should always be light and durable, therefore trees such as “Rukkattana” and “Diyakanduru” are used.
